As-Salaam Alaikum – Peace be upon you.
Eid-al-Fitr is a day of joy, acts of worship, thanksgiving to Allah Almighty, cooperation, solidarity, brotherhood, unity, and spiritual provision among Muslim community. The Eid is on Monday 2nd May 2022.
We, as Rumi Mosque, will be holding 4 Eid jamaahs (sittings) for Eid al-Fitr prayer.
1st Jamaah is at 6 15am, 2nd Jamaah is at 7 15am, 3rd Jamaah is at 8 15am
4th and last Jamaah is at 10:30am (at Ponders End Park – Sedcote Road, Enfield, EN3 4RQ)
The community are kindly advised to arrive at least half an hour before for any jamaah.
These are also some of the Sunnah acts (the practice of Prophet Muhammed PBUH) for Muslims to perform on the day of Eid-al-Fitr.
-Wake up early in the morning
-Take a shower
-Wear your best and clean clothes
-Use atar – perfume
-Eat date fruit or something sweet before leaving the house
-Engage in takbir (Allahu Akbar – The God is the greatest) from Fajr until the imam comes out for prayer.
-Congratulate each other with the greeting of ‘Eid Mubarak’.
-Follow different routes to Eid prayer.
-Forget not to give out Zakat al-Fitr (Fitre – Fitrana) before the Eid prayer. This is compulsory for all members of your household. (£10 each)
-It is also considered a good Islamic practice to visit one another and exchange gifts.
-Make lots of Istighfar and pray that Allah (SWT) may accept our fast, prayers, donations and devotion.
-Try to be charitable as best as you can.
We advise people to remain vigilant with regards to public health, and ask those who may be ill or vulnerable to remain at home.
We hope and pray that everyone has a wonderful and enjoyable Eid.
Eid Mubarak in advance to Muslims all around the world.
